MY ass. I want the Flying Lizard to win and all, but they didn't even touch! You are focusing on the wrong accident anyways, the one where the Ferrari bashed in the back left tire, causing it to toe in, is where you should look.

That call was a crock of shit. 555 had the line, had the lead around that corner. Fred Smith made a theory on twitter that Flying Lizard flopped. That's a tough one to prove, but them being Flying Lizard I wouldn't put that past them.

It's the wrong penalty, but the right punishment.
The Lizard car had the Ferrari beat, and there was no reason for the Ferrari to push to the outside on exit. It's a bad, unsafe, decision that was rightfully punished.

The rules say you have to leave a lane. Why should it not apply, here?
There was no reason for the Ferrari to run that wide on exit.

I agree. They should have called on the initial contact; it was pretty obviously intentional.

Leave a lane in the middle of a corner? I don't think so, scooter. I would agree if it was a straight, but it wasn't and it would near impossible to adjust the line in the middle of a corner.

The R8 was fully along side and even starting to nose ahead before the turn in for the corner. The Ferrari used up all of the track on exit when he should have let off more and turned it sharper, leaving a lane to the outside, as the rules state.

He didn't push wide in the middle, he pushed wide on exit.
You can easily give space there, and he chose not to.
No need to be insulting, scooter.

That's the line, though. 555 would have to scrub off speed if he were to stay closer to the inside, which he already had dominance over. "Leave a lane" is such a wonderful fairytale.

The kink is a single racing line. The Audi decided to try the outside and suffered the consequences.

It's not a fairytale when every top flight racing series has made it a rule and enforces it.
I agree that it's a shame to see 24 hours of racing decided by a penalty, but that's the rule, and it was applied pretty the rule book.
